Dry Eye Relief
Relief from dry eye symptoms comes from the fact that a moist warm compress adds add moisture and eases the gritty feeling that comes with the dry eye condition. A warm compresses for dry eyes also improve the production of tears and other eye fluids by unblocking the meibomian glands which produce the oil that forms part of the tear film.
Reduces Swelling
Warm compresses provide substantial relief from the swelling that is associated with conditions such as blepharitis, dry eye, cellulitis and styes. The warmth of the compress applied helps in the drainage of built up fluids caused by the conditions and eases the pain that results from the swelling in and around the eyes.
Improves Blood Circulation
Any strain on the eyes can hamper blood circulation in the eyes which may lead to vision problems including glaucoma. Warm compresses help in improving blood circulation in the eyes. This makes the nutrients flow at a faster rate to improve eye health. An improved flow of nutrients to the eyes also helps in quicker healing of various eye conditions.
Cleanses the Eyes
Some eye conditions cause a discharge which results in flaky and scaly deposits especially around the lid margins and at the base of the eye lashes. Applying a warm and moist compress helps to dissolve the crusty deposits and keeps the eye area clean. Applying a warm compresses also reduces the inflammation and dryness that causes the deposits to be formed.
Manages Pain
Pain in and around the eyes is a common side effect of many eye problems and infections. A warm compress helps to relieve the pain associated with conditions such as conjunctivitis, styes and blepharitis. The warming compress also helps to relax sore tissues around the eyes and minimises the pain resulting from trauma, fatigue and inflammation.

Contact Lens Problems are common in the UK
Did you know that there is an actual proper side to wearing your lenses?

If your eyes are stinging, burning, itching or painfull remove the lenses immediately and seek advice.
The damage caused by glaucoma can’t be reversed. But treatment and regular checkups can help slow or prevent vision loss, especially if you catch the disease in its early stages.
Glaucoma is treated by lowering your eye pressure (intraocular pressure). Depending on your situation, your options may include prescription eyedrops, oral medications, laser treatment, surgery or a combination of any of these.
Treatments depend on the type of AMD you have.
Dry AMD – there’s no treatment, but vision aids can help reduce the effect on your life.
Wet AMD – you may need regular eye injections and, very occasionally, a light treatment called “photodynamic therapy” to stop your vision getting worse.
At the Eye Health Clinic we srtive to bring to our customers the very latest techniques and technologies in eye care.
One such example is a brand new concept of using a persons own immune system to treat many eye disorders especially dry eye syndrome.
